3/4 cup coconut milk

3 Tbls nutritional yeast flakes

2 Tbls tapioca flour or arrowroot

1/2 tsp sea salt

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp garlic powder

pinch of smoked paprika

  1. Put all ingredients into a sauce pan and stir with a whisk.  Once everything is combined, turn on the heat and bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.
  2. Let simmer on low to medium heat for about one minute until the sauce is stretchy.

Notes: You can use any plant based milk.  You can substitute the tapioca or arrowroot with cornstarch.  It may have a bit different consistency, taste will be the same.   If you don’t care about the gluten, you can use regular flour.  This works well with past, or on veggies, chips etc.  The color may vary a bit with the brand of nutritional yeast used.  Some have a more yellow finish than others…depends on the ingredients in the product.
