2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar

1/2 cup (one stick) butter, room temp

1/4 cup honey

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/8 tsp ground cloves

pinch of salt

3/4 cup spiced rum

2 cups boiling water or apple cider

4 sticks of cinnamon for garnish.

Put the water or apple cider vinegar in a pan and bring to a boil.

Using an electric mixer, beat the brown sugar, butter, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl until blended and smooth. Transfer mixture to the pan and whisk until dissolved in the liquid. Add the rum. Divide into four mugs, garnish with cinnamon sticks.

Notes: I used the apple cider for a more robust flavor.
